A slower September in the Budapest property market
The Budapest property market slowed in September 2015 compared with previous months although the market is still in good shape. with the year-on-year growth is still significant.
A year ago the market already experienced an upward trend, September 2014 saw around 10,000 sales or purchases taking place, a 10% year-on-year increase.
The second half of September this year shows and increase on the first half showing the slight slowing was either due to seasonal trends or perhaps as some think the negative publicity Hungary received due to the recent refugee crisis, making foreign buyers a little reluctant to visit and invest.
With a total number of transactions reaching 102 723 so far this year, this is already a higher number than any of the years between 2009 and 2013.
So far in the first nine months of this year there has been a 40% increase in sales compared to the same period in 2014.
